This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 22, 2007:
When I was a little girl I wanted to be a captain on a ship. At the time (around 1960) that seemed to be a ridiculous idea.
Today, this is still what I love to do - and do: I sail my "ship" on the waves of my Consciousness. What a joy!

When I was growing up I wanted to be a marine biologist. I read and re-read the Jacques Cousteau series at the library and watch his specials on tv. I poured over books and magazines that had whales in them or sea diving. I wanted to be outdoors, on the ocean, observing and looking for patterns, wide open space, solitude, a slower pace. A career test talked me out of it, stating I had no propensity for science. At the time I was crushed. Now I’m thinking over what still draws me to this marine vision and how to act on it. In the late 1960’s National Geographic featured Robin Lee Graham three years in a row as he sailed around the world at age 17. I pored over those pictures and stories for years, feeding my soul on them.
